Dear Turk Workers —
Yesterday many of you received rejections for HITs that you submitted. This was as a result of an automated system for processing submissions that we are implementing. We developed the system because we thought it would benefit both our worker community and our own staff. For workers it would result in quicker acceptances/rejections and corresponding pay-outs. For us it would ensure more accuracy and oversight over the submissions we are receiving.
Unfortunately when we turned on the system we encountered situations that we did not foresee and consequently we turned the system off and are making a few adjustments as discussed below.
- There has always been a daily limit on workers doing no more than 10 HITs. Unfortunately we have seen some individuals doing many more so we instituted a rule would reject the extra HITs if they were performed within 24 Hours. In listening to feedback from many of you we realized that this is not how you interpreted the rule and also it is not how many of you work. Therefore we have adjusted the rule to reject more than 10 HITs if they are done within the same calendar day. The structure of the new rule will now properly implement our original intent
- Some submissions were rejected because although the information was correct extra spaces were included in the answer and the system didn’t recognize it as such. We have fixed this bug.
- There still maybe instances of input that we don’t recognize and consequently the HIT will be rejected. In these cases please let us know and we will investigate the HIT for you. Please remember to include Your ID, the HIT ID, The Error message and the date of your submission.
For the HITs that were rejected we have attempted to do a one-time reversal. However we are not sure that this will work. The Amazon system “disposes” of a HIT and the the documentation states that a disposed HIT cannot be un-rejected. Nevertheless we have paid out work that has been done.
We will be re-implementing the automated system later this week but please follow the guidance above to prevent being rejected. Please contact us if there are any questions.
